is this a song referring to people with the same ‘disease’? :) I love passionate people. The world itself has got so much to offer. Arts, music, landscape, literature, history…. I’d say if the artist himself is happy when growing old who gives a damn about what others say.
Off to see sonny simmons today. A free jazz sax/english horn player who used to play with eric dolphy out of the 60s. but hasn’t been playing since. Now in his 70s… Should b interesting to see…. :p
Saw Stefano Bollani live! He was awesome! was as crazy as hell, and totally marvellous. Good at switching in between tunes, improvising, breaking harmony and merge them all together. His dark bits are like monk, and light fancy bits like jarret:) I am so in love with him :) gotta find his CDs.
I want to buy one SAINKHO NAMTCHYLAK’s CD for a free jazz fan friend of mine for Xmas. He ll love it. But which one is good? Prefer as free as possible, not those prearranged tunes. if u know any to recommand?
Stefano Bollani, yes, awsome. and I have been listening to the album “The Third Man” (with Rava) for several days. I wrote a few words about him: http://bedworm.com/blog/music/56_les-fleurs-bleues/ , but he is much better now than at that time. The 2006 album “I visionari” is also very good.
Eager for live performance.
For SAINKHO NAMTCHYLAK’s CD, you can try “Stepmother City”.
saw pharoah sanders play last nite. coleman once described him as possiblely the best tenor player in the world! I think best tenor is overrating but he certainly has his charm and very interesting techniques and magical moments! His stuff was simple, but sometimes quite beautiful.
hey i am seeing Sun Ra + Marshall Allen this month :)
have missed a few good gigs due to traveling. have 2 exams in 2 wks. can finally get back to my gig scence afterwards :) cant wait!

the third man是很新的专辑嘛:)
